MICHAEL FOX

Born in Toronto, with formative years in Vancouver and London England, Michael has been residing, for the past 16 years, in the town of Stratford Ontario. This veteran actor got his training at England's Bristol Old Vic, moving on to several years working in London, both on stage in such West End productions as "A Room With A View" and "A Month In The Country" and on radio and TV in various BBC productions. Returning to Canada, Michael spent time in Vancouver working at the Arts Club, the Playhouse, etc. before moving east to join Christopher Newton's Shaw Festival in Niagara-on-the-Lake. At Shaw he performed in Derek Golby's acclaimed production of "Cyrano de Bergerac" starring Heath Lambert. This was where the idea for writing a musical adaptation first came to him. Work in the Toronto theatre scene followed. He spent a number of years working in the lavish productions of Garth Drabinsky's Livent, first as LaFevre in the Canadian premiere of "The Phantom of the Opera" followed by roles in the Toronto productions of "Showboat", "Sunset Boulevard", and "Ragtime". It was during this period that "Cyrano", the musical started to take shape. Michael also conceived and created the TV series "Nilus The Sandman. Michael has worked at the Stratford Festival, most recently in "Fiddler on the Roof" and "Elizabeth Rex" starring Brent Carver. Following the 2001 Stratford season Michael made a major decision. After 30 years in the theatre he decided a change in carreer was in order. Today Michael is the Stratford rep for Investor's Group.
